Second-Grade Teacher Reworks Lizzo's "Truth Hurts"

An East Bay teacher and her class of second graders are trending after a video of them performing a parody of Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ went viral. UPDATE: Lizzo surprised the class!!

Dorothy Mallari redid the song for her class at Los Medanos Elementary in Pittsburg, about 40 miles east of San Francisco. Mallari has been teaching in the Pittsburg Unified School District for six years. Every school year, she picks a popular song and writes her own lyrics.

And this wasn’t a one-time performance for the video…they sing this song every day. And oh yeah, Lizzo saw it and loved it. So She surprised the class on “Good Morning America”!
