Local Kid Representing Louisville At Scripps National Spelling Bee

A student from Meyzeek Middle School will represent Louisville in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May in Washington D.C.

Zachary Rara outlasted 11 other students over 17 rounds to take the regional championship, spelling “analepsis” correctly to take home the championship.

It was the first time in years that the Louisville Free Public Library played host to a regional competition for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
