Give a warm welcome to lil’ Chorizo! This gentle two-year-old with the body of a sausage and a heart of gold is looking for a calm, quiet family to join.

She is small/medium in size, only 22 pounds, and appears to be some sort of Terrier mix. Chorizo came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. When Chorizo arrived, she had wounds on her face and was slow to trust people Our veterinary team worked to help Chorizo heal physically, but her family will need to give Chorizo the love to heal emotionally as well.

We discovered that Chorizo is very uncomfortable and somewhat fearful around other dogs. Her new home should be dog-free to give Chorizo the most comfort and success going forward. She is on the shyer side as well and may display fearful reactions when approached loudly, quickly or often; any kiddos in the home must be over 10 years of age and know how to approach canines because of this.

We’re positive that there’s a home out there for this gem of a dog! If you’ve been searching for a smaller, laid-back companion, consider giving Chorizo a chance! She is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on her shots. Head over to kyhumane.org/dogs to schedule an adoption appointment.
