JCPS Bus Driver Buys Pajamas For First Grader

Great story from WLKY about a sweet act of kindness by a JCPS school bus driver!

Larry Farrish says he noticed 6-year-old Levi, who is a first grader at Engelhard Elementary, was sad last Friday when he got on the bus.

It was pajama day and Levi was sad he didn’t have pajamas to wear. 

So, after Larry dropped off the kids at school, he went to the store and bought him some. He came back to the school to drop them off.

“I said this morning you were crying and I felt it,” he told Levi. “So I want your day to be a little bit better and I asked him, I said, ‘Would you try the pajamas on when you get to class and have a great day,'” he said. “He hugged them and said, ‘I have pajamas.'”

Levi said his sad tears turned into happy tears and he wants people to know how great his bus driver is.  Larry says this small act goes to show the big difference bus drivers make in the life of kids. 

Larry summed it up like this: “A lot of times, we’re the first person after their parents leave that they see, and we’re the last person they see before they go home, so we can make a big difference in a child’s life just by saying good mornin.”
