Man Gets His Master’s Degree At 71-Years-Old

Leroy Hartley moved to South Carolina to care for his ailing mother…but when she started to improve, he figured he should do something other than sit on the porch!

He went back to school at age 69, he enrolled in the University of South Carolina Transition to Teaching program. And during the past two years, Leroy has served as an elementary school assistant in special education art and computer class. He dressed in costumes like Cat in the Hat and had a ball! He graduated with his master’s degree!!
