Shia LaBeouf wants Olivia Wilde to “correct the narrative” she put out there that she fired him from Don’t Worry Darling. He claims that he chose to walk away from the upcoming film, writing in an email to Variety that he was “a little confused” when Wilde said otherwise. “You and I both know the reasons for my exit,” LeBeouf wrote to Wilde. “I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”

He continued, “Firing me never took place, Olivia. And while I fully understand the attractiveness of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. It is not the truth.” He sent receipts to the magazine too, in the form of text messages between himself and Wilde.

Wilde recently told Variety that she fired LaBeouf from the project to “protect” lead actress Florence Pugh due to accusations of abuse in early 2021.
