Powerful New Documentary Shows Life With A Child Born With Half A Heart

Bowen Hammit isn’t new to the spotlight…in fact, his story has been featured on national TV before. He was born with half a heart and a new documentary follows his family as they contemplate a new surgery that could either improve his life…or make it worse. “Bowen’s Heart” shows the stress that carries for the family, the balance struggle the parents try to find with making sure his siblings feel important…the fear of making a decision on his care.

He’s now 11 and has survived 3 open heart surgeries.   He loves to make music and is loving life! “Maybe he will have til he’s 30, you know, maybe he’ll live til he’s 40. And now I’m starting to go maybe he will get married,” said Bowen’s mom, Sarah Hammitt. “I didn’t ever think those things would happen. And now I’m starting to let my heart believe they could.”
