Formerly Incarcerated Mom Passes The Bar Exam

Fordham Law student Afrika Owens was featured on “GMA” getting the news she passed the bar exam on the first try! She was arrested at 17 and was facing 25 years to life, but only served 6 months and a few years probation thanks to excellent representation.

She says “it doesn’t matter where you come from, it matter where you’re going.” She’s excited to get to help people, be a mentor and share her story!
