Wet Nose Wednesday – Daisy And Duke
UPDATE: Our Wednesday stars came down with a bug and have been taken off the adoption floor while they receive treatment. They should be back up for adoption soon! T
Meet our bonded pair, Duke and Daisy. 14-year-old Daisy and her 4-year-old best friend Duke have quite a sad story to share. These beautiful dogs found themselves at KHS when their young mother passed away suddenly in the home, leaving the pair waiting for 3 days before someone discovered them. The person who took guardianship of Daisy and Duke searched for a new home for the pair and was able to find one, but not one where the dogs could be together. Duke deteriorated quickly without his friend Daisy by his side and Daisy wasn’t settling into her new home either. Eventually, the dogs found themselves abandoned by their new families and came to KHS when their guardian was out of options for them. While these two have had a rough year, we are determined to turn it all around and find them a perfect home with someone who will keep them together! Daisy weighs 62 pounds and is a 14-year-old Beagle-ish mix? Your guess is as good as ours honestly! Duke is a 30-pound Terrier mix who loves to jump into your arms and be held like an oversized child. In typical old lady fashion, Daisy is very laidback and is happy to go on short walks in between her long naps. Duke is more active and loves to play with toys! In the past, they have met dogs they did not like, so they would prefer to meet any potential canine siblings before going home. Could you be the one to give these sweet dogs the happy ending they deserve? ! Both Daisy and Duke are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Come meet them today at the Kentucky Humane Society’s Main Campus, 241 Steedly Drive, or learn more about them at www.kyhumane.org/dogs!
