The Venom sequel debuted at No. 1 at the box office on opening weekend as of Sunday with $90.1 million at the domestic box office. It’s biggest three-day launch of the pandemic era, and the biggest weekend overall since COVID-19 shut down theaters back in March of 2020.
Venom 2 also came in $25-$30 million ahead of expectations, and is the first sequel to debut higher than the original movie in the pandemic era. (Venom opened to $80.3 million in 2018.)
