Twitter’s Clubhouse competitor, “Spaces” is here and if you have over 600 followers, you’re in!

Twitter made the announcement via blog post on May 3.

“Today, we’re bringing the ability to host a Space to all accounts with 600 or more followers on Twitter. Based on what we’ve learned so far, these accounts are likely to have a good experience hosting live conversations because of their existing audience.”

Back in March, Twitter said “Spaces” would be available to everyone in April, which didn’t happen. They want to continue to observe how current users interact with the platform before expanding its release.

“Before bringing the ability to create a Space to everyone, we’re focused on learning more, making it easier to discover Spaces, and helping people enjoy them with a great audience,” Twitter, via blog post.

Twitter is also developing the option for users to buy tickets to events within Spaces.

Have you tried Clubhouse or Spaces yet? Which is your favorite?
