The Academy Announces New Representation and Inclusion Standards for “Best Picture” Category

If a film wants to be nominated for “Best Picture” at the most prestigious awards show, The Academy Awards, then they will have to follow the all-new standards set by the academy.

For a film to be considered for “Best Picture”, it must include 2 of the 4 standards now listed (below).

The new inclusion and diversity standards for “Best Picture” nominees will begin in 2024.
