Teen Rescues Classmate After She Drives Into A Long Island Bay

Another water rescue involving teens when an 18-year-old accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and plunged into a Long Island bay…

A Long Island teen sprung into action Tuesday night after he witnessed a classmate drive her car into Patchogue Bay.  17-year-old Anthony dove into the water after 18-year-old Mia stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake and drove into the bay just after 10 p.m. last Tuesday. “She went pretty deep in there,” he said “She was banging on the door, banging on the window, trying to break the window, of course, and that kind of got me nervous, scared for her, so I just took my clothes off and went into the water.” Anthony was able to open one of the car’s door to pull Mia out and bring her safely to the dock. Both teens made it out uninjured. “She just came up to me and said, ‘Oh my God, thank you’ and was crying.”  He wasn’t even supposed to be there that day…he was supposed to be at the beach.  They actually go to the same high school and live less than a mile from each other, but never crossed paths until now.
