When Taylor Swift announced she was doing a paired down set of festivals called “Lover Fest” in just two US cities and a few in Europe, Swifties were ticked. Tickets were expensive and fans knew little about what to expect, other than they’d have to pay for flights and a hotel.

But during a recent interview, she was asked about the backlash of that choice and she indication “intense things” going on in her life and that priorities have shifted. Her mother, Andrea, was first diagnosed with cancer in 2015. But Taylor has been vague about what kind and the treatment, and many assumed she had recovered.

Until the song “Soon You’ll Get Better” on the Lover album that hinted Andrea was battling the disease again. Now Swifties are offering up understanding and support.
