Taylor And Ariana Lead VMA Nominations
MTV announced the nominations for the 2019 Video Music Awards and Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift top the list with 10 noms each, including video of the year and song of the year. Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X follow with nine and eight nominations, respectively.
Both are up for best new artist, while Billie is also up for artist of the year, push artist of the year and best pop, among other categories. Lil Nas X’s smash “Old Town Road,” meanwhile, is up for song of the year, best hip hop and video of the year. Two new categories this year include best K-pop and video for good.
Starting now through Aug. 15, fans can vote for their favorite artists across 14 categories here. Twitter and Facebook Messenger users can also slide into VMAs’ DMs to cast an additional vote, and Alexa owners can ask their device to “vote for the VMAs” for “artist of the year” within the MTV skill. During VMA Power Hour, 1-2 p.m. ET daily, votes are doubled on the VMA website. The 2019 VMAs, hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco, will air live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday, Aug. 26, at 9 p.m. on MTV.
