Halsey told fans that they were “heartbroken” after Wednesday night’s concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion was canceled hours after doors had already opened, due to torrential rains and flooding in the venue.

“Maryland I don’t even know what to say. If you missed my live, I’ll post something soon explaining what happened,” the singer tweeted after venue officials pulled the plug. “But right now I’m heartbroken and panicked and I just want to know when/that you all get home safely. I love you guys more than anything.”

On Twitter, dripping wet concertgoers shared videos of water flooding the venue as many were forced to seek refuge in the bathrooms while the storm passed. Another video shared by a concertgoer showed heavy floodwater pouring from the ceiling, while a third clip showed either a venue staffer or member of Halsey’s team kicking a rat off the stage toward fans standing in the pit.
