“Bryson Strong” indeed!!

We first met Bryson Betts in 2016  during our Norton Children’s Hospital Radiothon when he had been diagnosed with a dermoid cyst above his brain stem.

The cysts are formed at birth, but not usually in that location. At the time, they were going to wait and watch it because the location made it difficult to remove. Scary to say the least for his parents, knowing their son was living with a brain tumor.

Fast forward to 64 days ago, now 9-year-old Bryson was in surgery for 8 hours at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh getting it removed because of it’s growth. It was successful.  And he returned to the game he loves, baseball, with his travel team way faster than anyone predicted.

His parents are so relieved it’s gone and Bryson can go back to being a normal kid!
