Imagine the panic 9-year-old Kade Lovell’s mom felt when she didn’t see her son finishing the 5K he was running in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She had everyone looking for him, including firemen, when she got word a kid was doing remarkably well in a 10k race.
How did he do that? He said a lady told him to keep going straight…so he kept going straight and missed his turn to stay on the 5k path. Oh…and he didn’t just win his age group. He was the overall winner at 48 minutes, a full minute ahead the 40-year-old in second place!
