MMMBop Hit Number One 25 Years Ago!

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of two huge Hanson milestones, the release of “MMMBop” (April 15) and the track hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (May 24), MTV is rolling out a new series called “The Song That Started It All”. In this premiere episode, the full story of “MMMBop” is told through a mix of iclips from the likes of “Total Request Live”, “House Of Style”, and more, and present-day interviews with the Hanson brothers themselves, the song’s producer Stephen Lironi and legacy MTV VJ, Dave Holmes.

That song did start it all because Hanson is still making music. Their brand-new album “Red Green Blue” is out now, marking their entry into their third decade as a band!
