Mel Gibson and Jim Caviezel Will Start Shooting “Passion of the Christ” Sequel Next Year

The Passion Of The Christ sequel is set to begin filming in 2025, with Mel Gibson back in the director’s chair and Jim Caviezel returning as Jesus. Titled The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection, the film is rumored to use non-linear narratives.

The Passion of the Christ pulled in $600 million at the box office and received three Oscar nominations with Gibson financing the movie himself with $30 million for production and another $15 million for marketing.

Caviezel has talked about how difficult it was shooting the original, including getting struck by lighting.
