Mariah Carey was named as one of 2020’s inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Haters gonna hate but Mariah is the best-selling female artist ever. She has more No. 1 hits than any other solo artist, and she has written or co-written 18 of the 19 of them. She’s also the first artist to have a No. 1 in four separate decades.
Here are the others who will be inducted at a June 11 ceremony in New York City:
- The Isley Brothers
- Eurythmics
- Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band
- Rick Nowels (who has written hits for artists including Belinda Carlisle, Dido, Lana Del Rey, and others)
- The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, who have written hits for artists including Nelly, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and others)
- William “Mickey” Stevenson (who wrote or co-wrote such iconic hits as “Dancing In the Street,” “It Takes Two,” “Devil With a Blue Dress On,” and others)
