Kevin Bacon Hits Police Car While Looking Up ‘Saved By the Bell’ Episode

If you can somehow make it through the day without hitting a police car while looking up a ‘Saved By the Bell’ episode, you’re doing ok.

Kevin Bacon (NOT the actor) did just that. He was on his phone “using an Internet search engine to search for a specific episode of the 90’s television sitcom ‘Saved by the Bell’” when he sideswiped a Vermont police car that had stopped to aid the driver of a disabled vehicle, cops report.

After hitting the cop car, he kept going for a short distance before stopping, then “fleeing the scene of the crash.” Cops nabbed him about a mile from the crash scene.  The good news is no one was hurt.

What exactly was so urgent that he had to look it up while driving?? The episode in question was “Screech’s Spaghetti Sauce.”

According to an IMDB description of the episode, “The gang produce a television show for Communications class, with the sauce Screech makes during the cookery segment proving a hit. They decide to market it, and Screech gains a girlfriend, but he refuses to believe she is using him.”  Magical TV, indeed. But lets wait until we are safely parked before checking that out mmmkay?

Bacon was arrested for gross negligent operation of a vehicle and leaving the scene of a crash. He was also issued a traffic citation for texting while driving.
