Biebs is cooking the books baby!

It’s been a little over a week since his highly-anticipated solo single ‘Yummy’ dropped after more than four years on hiatus. The vibey track is allegedly an ode to his wife Hailey Bieber, a little tmi if you ask me but whatever floats his or her or their boat I suppose. However, ‘Yummy’ hasn’t quite had the reaction the singer had hoped for, it seems. ‘Yummy’ isn’t projected to be number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and Justin is desperate for a hit. So desperate, in fact, that he’s begged his fans to stream his track repeatedly to get it to number one. He has also said that he would not be going on tour unless the song hits the top spot. Bold claim, JB.

In a move that could really inspire a Black Mirror episode; the singer took to Instagram to literally school fans on how to get the song to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Biebs even reposted graphics and detailed directions on how to cheat the system to get his song to number one. The directions instructed international fans to get VPNs or Virtual Private Networks, which allows IPs to be hidden and makes international streamers look like they’re streaming in the United States.  Although it’s not against any laws or Billboard rules to encourage fans to use different strategies to boost a song and many fans create campaigns like this all the time, however, artists rarely endorse them directly like that.

I’m not mad at him though, I’m sure it’s being done by labels and artists on the low… In a world where we’re cheating our way to the top, at least Justin is honest about it!
