John Krasinski Crowned As People’s “Sexiest Man Alive”

John Krasinski was named PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive!

In the new issue of PEOPLE, Krasinski joked that he experienced an “immediate blackout” and “zero thoughts” upon learning about the honor. “Other than maybe I’m being punked,” he added.

Selena Gomez’s boyfriend, Benny Blanco, got a shout out from the issue.

Some “sexiest” fun facts: Mel Gibson was the first to win the title in 1985, and John F. Kennedy, Jr. won in 1988. So far, three men who have held the title have passed away: John F. Kennedy, Jr., Patrick Swayze, and Sean Connery. Brad Pitt and George Clooney have both won Sexiest Man twice. In 1994, People didn’t award the title to anyone, but in 2015, the magazine declared Keanu Reeves the 1994 winner.
