High School Football Viral Sportsmanship Moment

The football coaches for these two teams in Syracuse got together before the game and hatched a plan to let a certain player have an amazing moment if the game was decided either way. That special player was Noah Dickinson on the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets, and his team was winning 42-16.

Coach Nick Patterson of the Henninger Black Knights said,  “We’d already taken a good, old-fashioned butt-whooping. But everybody knows it’s bigger than sports, and this was a great opportunity to provide this young man with a memory that he will have for a lifetime.” So they let Noah, who has Down Syndrome, run a handoff for a 75 yard touchdown in the final seconds.

The coach for the Hornets said Noah is “ a full participant in every drill. He breaks the team down and huddles at the end of practice and drills,” “He yells at me when he doesn’t get the ball. So he’s involved in the drills. In fact, we’ve got to pull him out of drills because he jumps in. It’s incredible. And he’s the best dancer on the team. After every win. Noah does the ‘Dougie.’ And after every touchdown he scores in practice.”
