  • At 17, she signed with Atlantic Records and dropped her given name for “Chappell Roan,” which is a tribute to her late grandfather Dennis K. Chappell. His favorite song was “The Strawberry Roan.”
  • Other stars have reached out to Chappell Roan like Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams, Katy Perry, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Noah Kahan, Elton John, and Troye Sivan.
  • She confirmed she was a lesbian earlier this year during a show in Ohio, but still feels like she has a lot of “rewiring” to do when she feels uncomfortable about her identify as a gay woman.
