The 37th annual Angel Tree sign-up campaign kicks off next week as The Salvation Army makes available the registration appointment letters for families in Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt and Spencer Counties who need Christmas assistance for their children.
The first step for families seeking assistance with gifts and toys for their children is to pick up a registration appointment letter. All interested parents or guardians MUST pick up an appointment letter between that will provide them a set date, time, and location for registration and give details on what type of documents and information are needed at the time of their actual registration appointment in October.
“For families struggling to make ends meet, we want to lessen the burden that can accompany the holiday season for many who may have to choose between putting food on the table, paying rent, or gifts for their children,” remarks Captain Lacy Parrish, Louisville Area Commander. The Salvation Army believes every child should wake up Christmas morning to celebrate the joy of Christmas. With the support of a generous community, the Angel Tree campaign allows The Salvation Army to help lift the burden for struggling families by providing needed clothes, toys and food for Christmas.
