Demi Lovato Talks About Her Future Kids Staying Out Of The Public Eye
Demi Lovato makes her directorial debut with the new documentary, “Child Star,” coming to Hulu on Tuesday, September 17. In the film, she’ll talk to fellow child stars Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Alyson Stone, Raven-Symoné, and Christina Ricci, and JoJo Siwa. Prepare for some goosebumps when you watch the trailer:
In a new interview via Access Hollywood (above), Demi talks about not wanting her future kids to be child stars themselves:
It’s not something I would push on my kids by any means. If anything, I wanna protect them from social media and being in front of the public eye as much as I can.
And then when they’re of age, to follow their dreams. You know, I want to support them as much as possible. I think the way that I would be supporting them is by protecting them from being in the public eye too soon. And so when I think about having kids, I think about, you know, I think about telling them you can perfect your craft and practice and get as great as your possible can at it and then when you turn 18, then you can follow your dreams.
But I think having those years of, just like, sacred childhood is really important to every kid.
Demi put out a new song called “You’ll Be OK, Kid” as part of the new documentary:
