Competitive Swimmer Saved By Her Coach…Twice

Anita Alvarez is a world-class competitor in artistic swimming, and was competing in the FINA World Championships in Hungary when she suddenly lost consciousness while underwater. Her coach, Andrea Fuentes, realized the crisis and dove in fully clothed to rescue her. She got her to the surface where she got medical attention on a backboard. Her vitals were normal and she’s ok.

But this isn’t the first time this has happened to her…and the same coach saved her that time too!
