Ariana Grande Refused To Do THIS With “Wicked”

Ariana Grande refused to change one of her songs in the upcoming movie adaptation of ‘Wicked‘ to make it more hip-hop.

The musical’s composer and lyricist, Stephen Schwartz, wanted to refresh the rhythm of the song ‘Popular,’ but Ariana insisted on staying true to the character of Glinda. Ariana told Schwartz, ‘Absolutely not, don’t do it. I want to be Glinda, not Ariana Grande playing Glinda’.”

Despite some hesitation, Schwartz convinced Ariana to add a new vocal ending to showcase her range.

It was revealed that Ariana originally auditioned for the role of Elphaba but ultimately knew she was meant to play Glinda.

‘Wicked’ is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
