Amanda Bynes On Psychiatric Hold
Amanda Bynes is under a psychiatric hold after she flagged down a driver in downtown Los Angeles naked on Sunday morning. TMZ reports that she told the driver she was coming down from a psychotic episode, and actually called 911 herself. She was taken to a police station and had a mental healthy team determine she needed to be placed on a psychiatric hold.
More is being learned about what happened leading up to this. She apparently had been wandering the streets for days before she was found naked. Her car was towed in Long Beach, which is approximately 25 miles from where she was found in downtown Los Angeles without clothes on. It is suspected that she hitched a ride or took public transport to get from Long Beach to downtown L.A., and allegedly got a ride from a stranger to Beverly Hills before she asked to be returned to Hollywood. Those close to Bynes said she has made some improvements since she was placed on psychiatric hold on Sunday, but as of right now it’s looking like she’ll remain in care for another week before she’s discharged.
You may recall her past erratic behavior resulted in her parents placing her under a conservatorship in 2013. Bynes admitted she was “on drugs” during that time and tweeted that she had bipolar disorder. That conservatorship was terminated last March after showing “facts” in court it wasn’t needed and her parents were on board with that. Despite the current setback, her parents are said to not be considering reinstating a conservatorship.
