More bombshells coming out of the new Whitney Houston documentary coming to theaters July 6th, including that Whitney was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.
According to family members, her half-brother Gary Garland says he was abused when he was young by their cousin Dee Dee Warwick, sister of Dionne Warwick, and he believes Whitney was as well. Mary Jones, Whitney’s aunt and the one who found her after her death in 2012 said Whitney told her she had been abused by Warwick before she passed.
The project was executive produced by Houston’s family and does not shy from Whitney’s drug abuse and emotional issues. One friend says in the trailer, “There were always a lot of secrets. If you don’t resolve and deal with things, they never go away.” It features interviews from family and record industry executives along with never seen footage of Whitney.
They touch on her relationship with friend and assistant Robyn Crawford.
There is also some diva shade…where Whitney complains about Paula Abdul. Ouch!
