Bowl For Kids’ Sake

Big Brother/Sister volunteers and their “Littles” will be accompanied by a plethora of athletes, mascots, and community figures as we rock, roll, and raise funds at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake Big/Little CHAMPIONS Bowl on March 29th, 2015.

Athletes have already started to RSVP for this year’s event—which takes place Sunday, March 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Ken Bowl, located at 7021 Southside Drive, Louisville, KY 40214—and special appearances will be made by Buddy the Bat, Pow the Panda, and many more! Mascots and athletes alike will be taking to the lanes and cheering bowlers on, as they bowl for an important cause. The CHAMPIONS-themed event is perfectly-suited to recognize the real champions at Big Brothers Big Sisters: the Bigs and Littles!

Bowl for Kids’ Sake—the organization’s largest annual fundraiser—brings teams of bowlers together throughout the region to benefit thousands of children in need. The rock’-n-roll-themed events—which take place primarily in March—feature a bowling party complete with commemorative t-shirts for each bowler, Papa John’s Pizza, Pepsi products, a live DJ, and more. Bowlers are asked to fundraise a minimum of $100 to participate, and are incentivized to fundraise more. All money remains local to further the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters in the community.

Bowlers who raise $250 will receive a $15 iTunes gift card. Bowlers at the $1200 level or more will receive their name featured on a wall plaque at the Big Brothers Big Sisters main office, tickets to a 2015 concert at the newly-renovated Mercury Ballroom, one pair of tickets to the Big Masquerade, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ annual gala in November, as well as all of the previously mentioned prizes. And finally, bowlers who raise $2500 or more will receive all of the above, plus a chance to win a Crosley jukebox!
Funds raised during Bowl for Kids’ Sake provide 25 percent of the organization’s annual operational budget, playing a vital role in ensuring that every local child who is facing adversity and wants a positive role model can receive the benefits of a caring adult mentor.
