FREE U of L Lectures

You’re invited to hear about "The Business of College Sports", by Kristi Dosh, the "Sports Biz Miss." Dosh is a former ESPN correspondent and who has written for Forbes. It's at 6pm on Thursday, September 24 in the Chao Auditorium of the Ekstrom Library. Come early for a book signing at 5:30 for her book "Saturday Millionaires" before the talk.  Find out more HERE.

Also make plans to attend the Bullitt Lecture in Astronomy, by Hal Weaver of Johns Hopkins University, Thursday October 8th.  He's the Pluto New Horizons project scientist who will talk about recent results from the fly-by of Pluto last July. Find out more HERE.


Walk To End Lupus

The Walk To End Lupus is this Saturday at EP Tom Sawyer Park …it’s FREE to register and walk.

The Down Syndrome of Louisville's "Steps to Independence" Walk/Fun Run

The Down Syndrome of Louisville's "Steps to Independence" Walk/Fun Run is October 3rd at Waterfront Park celebrating the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their accomplishments.
The Lifelong Learning Centers located in Louisville and Clarksville procvide innovative and research-based education and development for all ages of individuals with Down syndrome. The Walk is DSL's largest annual fundraiser and continues to help us grow programs and services for our members in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Activities include: 
  • Kids Fun Zone area where children can play games and win prizes.
  • 4K Fun Run
  • Spirit Sprint, which is a short, fun race for people with Down syndrome over the age of 10. After the Spirit Sprint, those individuals who wish to are invited onto the stage to display their medals
  • Family Walk of various distances through the Waterfront Park
  • Family Picnic Zone with great food
  • Live music by Michael Bush and The Allstars band
