Shocking news today as Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman
was found dead in his New York apartment on Sunday.
Hoffman, who won an Academy Award
for Best Actor for his performance in "Capote,"
was only 46.
No additional details about his death were immediately available, but the New York Post
is calling it an "apparent drug overdose."
The actor has struggled with substance abuse in the past -- and, in 2013, went to rehab after falling off the wagon by taking prescription pills and snorting heroin.
He was in rehab for 10 days.
The actor is survived by his three children, Cooper, Tallulah and Willa, and his longtime partner Mimi O'Donnell.
